Lines is a collection of porcelain stoneware tiles designed by StorageMilano for Ceramica Bardelli, intended for both flooring and wall coverings and characterized by minimalist surfaces, architectural proportions, and highly precise textural details. Available in 60×60 cm and 60×120 cm sizes, the collection comes in three color families—light gray, anthracite, and mud—designed to complement contemporary materials, furnishings, and surfaces.
The distinctive feature of Lines is its decorative version, in which a fine metal rod—in satin-finished brass or steel—is integrated directly into the tile via a non-penetrating surface engraving created using waterjet cutting technology. The process, developed using technology patented by Ceramica Bardelli and designed in collaboration with the designers at StorageMilano, allows the metal insert to be embedded with extreme precision within the porcelain stoneware.
The rod is thus positioned perfectly flush with the surface, without creating any protruding elements: ceramic and metal form a continuous, clean, and precise surface. The decorative detail therefore does not appear as a simply applied element, but as a feature integrated into the very material of the tile.
The flatness of the surface fully enhances the metal’s luminosity and elegance, while protecting the decorative details and preserving the strength and durability of the porcelain stoneware. Light interacts with the metal strip, altering its appearance depending on the viewing angle and transforming a simple geometric shape into a refined architectural element.
With Lines, ceramic technology, precision craftsmanship, and design innovation come together in a surface where metal becomes an integral part of the design: a detail intended for residential architecture, hospitality, retail, and contemporary interior design.
